I say to set the VTA using about a 150gram LP and let it be what it be on the Dynaflex and 200gram stuff. But that's one of the things that eliminated Rega on my new purchase list, what I think of as the Apple mentality. Sweet overall build quality though!
The platter mat and record thickness also play a role in the VTA. And since you'll likely have different thickness records, it doesn't make much sense to worry about it beyond initial set-up for an average thickness record. a 2mm spacer or 3mm seems to suit most aftermarket carts fine.

The lowest VTA we have measured was 24° (even though the manufacturer claimed 20°) and the highest was 36°. Most cartridges have a VTA of between 28° to 32°. The VTA of Rega cartridge is approximately 28°. The Record: The VTA of a record cutting stylus is set to give the best continuous cut of the lacquer.
