Hey, I'm planning to take TMUA this year and I've been told that understanding A Level Maths Spec really well helps (the paper is based on Y1 and Y2 Pure Maths). There's a dedicated TMUA and ESAT website where you'll be able to find the specification and how to register (I'm sure there's links to sources as well). Past papers are always important but don't just rely on practicing past TMUA ...
So if I do the TMUA which is more than 8 weeks after submitting my UCAS application will that mean they reject me as they won't see my results until February 2025?
Hi. From 1 post on Reddit I heard that this years TMUA was absolutely terrible for paper 1. How did everyone find it that sat it today?
Honestly, a 4.5 TMUA score is a bit borderline for Warwick Maths, but it’s not an automatic rejection. The wording clearly says “majority above 5.0”, which suggests there isn’t a hard cut off. Your overall profile is very strong, with high predictions and good GCSEs, which is exactly what a holistic assessment looks at.
He sat the TMUA test in October and found it fairly easy except from 1-2 questions at the end of each paper. He was expecting a grade 8-9 with worst case scenario a 7; in all his practice tests he never scored below a 7. Yet today he got a 3.7 (!!) which makes absolutely no sense. Have Pearson Vue scrambled candidates results before?
I want to apply for ucl economics 2026. My predicted grades are AAA. What kind of score would I need for tmua? I haven’t been doing great at it but is there a chance at an offer even with an average score??
