Sumedha Majumdar Goldman

In Buddhist texts, Sumedha is a previous life of Gotama Buddha (Pāli; Sanskrit: Gautama) in which he declares his intention to become a Buddha. Buddhist texts describe that this takes place when Gotama Buddha is still a Buddha-to-be (Pali: bodhisatta, Sanskrit: bodhisattva).

Sumedha helped Pawan Kheskani (2004-05) from Jaipur for 6 Years and today he is working as a marine engineer and has started contributing to the cause of Sumedha.

Sumedha is the name of the bodhisattva who would become Gautama Buddha in a future life. Sumedha lived during the time of Dīpankara Buddha. Born into a brahmin family, Sumedha left his home to live as an ascetic in the mountains.

The Buddha arrived before his work was finished, and Sumedha lay down on a rut for the Buddha to walk over him. He resolved that he, too, would become a Buddha, and Dīpankara, looking into the future, saw that his wish would come true.
