Alliance Semiconductor has introduced a family of PWM controllers with integrated EMI reduction technology for low-noise switched-mode power supply (SMPS) and inverter applications. The ASM8P18S4X ...
Switch Mode Power Supply (SMPS) Repair - Low output voltages whilst under load.
The reason I want to have the DC output of the SMPS ground referenced is to avoid leakage current rom the SMPS to damage sensitive circuits and components like MOSFETs in certain conditions. For instance, I damaged a few power MOSFETs when using a floating SMPS and wearing the ESD wrist strap at the same time.
For the SMPS stuff, a 100MHz CRO is usually good enough and there are some newer CROs around that have mutlichannel digital inputs you can use for all manner of digital circuit tests and measurements as well as logic and protocol analyser type functions and at far higher frequencies than 100MHz.
I made a simple smps with uc3845. The output of the ic is connected to IRF840 and a EE30_15_7 ferrite transformer wound by me. The osc section seems to be working. Vcc supplied is 16.5 v Pin 1 connected to opto coupler pin 2 to GND Pin 3 to the 0.47ohm resister connected between Mosfet...
Hi, I'm searching for an example circuit to be run on LTSpice with a SMPS together with a common mode choke. The idea is to run a transient simulation in order to see the effect of this latest component on output voltage (noise reduction). Do you have anything to suggest? Thank you
I have come across a circuit of smps in which there is a capacitor attached to primary and secondary side of transformer. What is the purpose of it. Smps is working on 60khz switching frequency. And also how to calculate that capacitor value link of the circuit i am studying...
