Go to the password assistance page. Enter your Google Account email address Type the the words in the distorted picture. Choose how to get back into your account. In order to keep your account secure, you can't change your password to a password that's previously been used with your account.

If you forgot your password or username, or you can’t get verification codes, follow these steps to recover your Google Account. That way, you can use services like Gmail, Photos, and Google Play.
To check the password that will be saved, select Preview . If there are multiple passwords on the page, select the Down arrow . Choose the password you want saved. If your username is blank or incorrect, select the text box next to "Username." Enter the username you want saved. If you want to save a different password, select the text box next to "Password." Enter the password you want saved.
Tip: Don't create an app password unless the app or device you want to connect to your account doesn't have "Sign in with Google."
App passwords revoked after password change To help protect your account, we revoke your app passwords when you change your Google Account password. To continue to use an app with your Google Account, create a new app password. Tip: If the app offers "Sign in with Google," we recommend you use that feature to connect the app to your Google Account.
