Celebrate spring with the Friends of the Institute and Mia with a month of Art in Bloom in April! Presented by the Friends, this year’s floral festival is blooming with more family events, hands-on workshops, public tours, and Mall of America floral demonstrations and coloring contests.

The mandala created at Mia, in partnership with the Tibetan American Foundation of Minnesota and the Jangchub Choeling nuns, was a Green Tārā Mandala. Green Tārā is a central deity in Tibetan Buddhism. She is believed to be incarnated as the Nepali princess Bhrikuti Devi, whose influence helped establish Buddhism in Tibet.

Mia’s collection is held in public trust, for the benefit of all. Through the conservation of works of art in the collection, Mia ensures that it remains accessible for generations to come.
