Founded on 28 October 1904, HKN promotes professional accomplishment, service to others, and leadership development for students and professionals in electrical engineering, computer engineering, and other IEEE fields of interest.

Eta Kappa Nu (HKN) is the national Electrical and Computer Engineering honor society. The Berkeley chapter is among the most active engineering societies at Berkeley, providing academic services to fellow undergraduates. Our two offices are located in 290 Cory and 345 Soda near the northeastern corner of the UC Berkeley campus.
HKN Energy is a privately-held oil and gas operator and producer focused on the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. HKN has operated the Sarsang Block since November 2007 and the Atrush Block since August 2024.

Eta Kappa Nu (HKN) is a national honor society for electrical and computer engineers, which was founded in 1904 by Maurice L. Carr at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. HKN then merged with IEEE in September 1 of 2010.
