270 Win. black bear ammo Hi all, Going bear hunting in Canada on August 15 and I'm so excited I have to keep fighting the urge to pack my gear in the truck. I think I'm going to take my bow, but I will have my Model 70, 270 at my side in case the big one is to far off. Just wondering what you recommend for over the counter ammo.

Am I splitting hairs? Assuming all is equal, shot placement etc. Do you think that 180 gr XTP at 1300 or 200gr XTP at 1250 is better. This is in 10mm for deer hunting but could see possibly boars or bear as well. Thanks

He emptied his .44 Mag. loaded with 300 gr. bullets into the bear and it was still coming ( all shoots hit the bear). Only after the guide put two rounds from a 12 ga. did the bear fall.
