The R51 isn't something I pour hundreds of rounds through...just an interesting little oddity in my collection. The one part I have considered stocking up on is the little rubber or plastic piece they use for the extractor instead of a spring. To me that seems like a fail point and I have heard it can cause issues if the gun gets hot.

The R51 is about 1/4" longer and the same height as the Shield w/the 8 round extended magazine. With the flush magazine, the Shield is shorter. Based on this and your review, I seriously doubt I will be getting one. You are free to choose, but you are not free from the consequence of your choice.
