Create an alias to give you an additional email address which uses the same inbox, contact list, and account settings as your primary email address in Outlook.com.
You’ll use this new primary alias to send and receive emails, access your Microsoft account information, and appear on devices. To remove the email address or phone number that you no longer want, select the option Remove that’s next to it, and then follow the instructions that are provided.

An alias is another email address or phone number that works with the same Microsoft account. When you change your email address, you have the choice of creating a new Outlook.com email address or using an email address from a different email provider (for example, gmail.com or yahoo.com.)

To get around the error, use an alias that is not blocked for sign-in. If you are not sure which account the blocked alias is associated with, select Forgot your username? and enter the alias you're trying to use.
On the Edit email addresses page, in the text box under Alias, type the first part of the new email alias. If you added your own domain to Office 365, you can choose the domain for the new email alias by using the drop-down list.
