We covered our model with silk, which not only strengthens the model, but makes it possible to attain a beautiful paint job. Use enough clear dope to make the silk air-tight. Sand very lightly between the last two coats. Then use a flexible primer, such as Seal Sure Balsa Wood Sealer, which works fine on doped silk. Sand the sealer lightly.
