Karambit- great for self defense, terrible as utility blade Balisong- better for utility, not as good as karambit in defense/fighting. Just my opinion, having had/have both types.
As of late I’ve given serious consideration to picking up a karambit knife. I’ve never owned one, but feel it’s one of the better self defense and EDC blades made. Looking for opinions on which one to pick up. Best!

The karambit was originally designed in Indonesia as an agricultural tool, much as the khukuri was in Nepal. Over the years it was evolved into a weapon by enhancing it's claw-like attributes.
