It does not, however, do very much to accurately define what Economic Populism actually is, and my google search for an explanation of the term only brings up a similar article from a year ago, a Wiki article on Populism (but not specifically economic populism) and Huffington Post Articles Tagged As "Economic Populism".

Marxism is a very broad subject, and there are movements which reject the idea of a revolutionary subject (see eg value criticism) and instead see the proletariat as taking part in the capitalist system. As your definition notes, populism is generally a strategy using simplified ideas and purporting to be about the will of the people, while Marxism is a socioeconomic analysis.
