GMU 127 / Mica Peak Really close to Spokane, and all private, sounds like good whitetail country. You can try pounding on some doors, I've always been told no for permission out there. I think your best bet would the inland paper. The elk that I know of out there are close to Newman lake and into Post Falls.
I shot a bull in GMU 127 (Mica Peak) a couple years ago and was wondering how it went this year because I didn't get out there. Any sightings? Any Elk? Any Bulls?
Mica is now closed to motorized vehicles and I figured that the deer up there probably hadn't been pressured too much. I got a late start to the day, but a 45 minute hike, a little farting around getting situated in the tree and I was ready to rock by about 11:30.
I went elk hunting today on mica peak and it was definately combat hunting except no one was shooting. I was wondering if anyone can give me some tips on hunting mica peak. Well for starters, I'd head up Mica peak, it's close by, and there are deer/elk and bear on that hill with public access. Not too many people truly hunt it all that hard and if you get up there and do your scouting and find some escape routes, you'll be set for opening weekend when the opening day warriors all hit the place. 95% of the year the only people you'll see up there are dirt bike ...
