Our graded music exams generally consist of three pieces, chosen by the candidate from the appropriate lists in the current syllabus, as well as scales & arpeggios, sight-reading and aural tests. In each Practical exam 150 marks are available. 100 marks are required to achieve a pass, 120 marks to pass with merit, and 130 marks to pass with distinction.

About Brass assessments We offer a range of assessments for learners playing the horn, trumpet, cornet and flugelhorn, E flat horn, trombone, baritone, euphonium and tuba - from the Prep Test for beginners up to Grade 8 and diplomas in Music Performance for advanced musicians.
About Clarinet exams We offer exams for clarinet players at all levels. Face-to-face Practical Grades and digital Performance Grades are available for Grades 1 to 8. The Prep Test is a fun first assessment with no pass or fail and Music Medals (UK only) are teacher-led assessments for the early stages of learning. For advanced players we offer ARSM, LRSM and FRSM diplomas in Music Performance.
