The Free and Open Source Silicon Foundation (FOSSi Foundation) is a non-profit foundation with the mission to promote and assist free and open digital hardware designs and their related ecosystems. [1]

FOSSI is dedicated to supporting those STEM Scholars who would otherwise not have access to a STEM education by eliminating financial barriers.

Sponsored by chemical manufacturers and related industry stakeholders, FOSSI provides scholarship recipients $10,000 per year for four years.

FOSSI is a national, chemical industry-led program which provides $40,000 scholarships to all qualified students pursuing preferred STEM degrees at Historically Black Colleges and Universities.

FOSSI will fund 4-year scholarships of $10,000 per year, provide internship opportunities, and facilitate mentoring and leadership training for students majoring in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).

FOSSI scholars must have an approved FOSSI major throughout their 4 years of college to retain their scholarship. FOSSI is not intended for students interested in pursuing careers in nursing, medicine, psychology, social sciences, veterinary medicine and other associated fields.
