We are releasing Chia 2.7.0. This is a soft fork release that will activate at block 8,655,000, around April 29/30 – the same block as the soft fork changes in 2.6.0 which was released on February 11.

The GUI has a new “Chia Tools” sidebar which contains a log viewer. This enables GUI users to quickly view their logs, identify issues with their client, and work with support to resolve errors. Optimizations & Fixes Version 2.5.2 provides some significant long sync pipeline improvements using threads and has mostly eliminated worker processes.
Chia 3.0 will include the brand new Proof of Space 2 (PoS2) consensus. This update will remove the ability to compress plots, which will bring the network back to its roots.
