Webthere is growing evidence for the need to embrace a patient’s personal choice in their healthcare decisions and to shift away from outdated, conventional, paternalistic. We completed a scoping review that yielded 193 articles for analysis. Five health states were used to account for the diversity of possible preferences based on health needs.
